What remains is present in part but also absent in some sense. Bringing these fragments together is an attempt to reconcile the pieces
into a dysfunctional wholeness. But now I have started to accept that sometimes all I can do is to respond to the unbridgeable distances
of printed images and photographs severed from their origins. These are stand-ins for incremental reversals of presence and changes of
fortune that are flattened with all the anecdotal evidence deleted as we try to escape into other realms. |
